No breeding planned 2011-2013

The Alaskan Malamute's friendly character, his intelligence and great working ability make this breed into an ideal companion for people who spend a lot of time in the great outdoors and are looking for a robust companion for activities during all seasons. As breeders we are dedicated to preserving this breed's unique qualities as a freighting sled dog and search worldwide for the best working bloodlines to achieve our goal. Equally important to us is a good temperament and to us this means, not only a friendly attitude towards people, but also an ability to peacefully co-exist with other dogs.

Since we live in the far north it is natural for us to focus on preserving the qualities which make the Malamute suited as a freighting sled dog in the arctic region. Soundness, substance and stamina are key aspects of our ideal Malamute and strong feet and a correct coat are absolute necessities in our northern climate. In addition, we place great emphasis on the important "details" which contribute to the correct type and beauty of the Alaskan Malamute. While we, due to our remote location do not show our dogs on a regular basis, we nevertheless plan our breedings with the ambition to produce Malamutes that will be competitive in the show ring too.

Our puppies are vaccinated, wormed and microchipped and are sold with our kennel club's sales contract, registration certificate, inoculation list, diet sheet and an owner's manual. As a basic requirement, the parents of each litter are screened for genetic conditions such as hip dysplasia and eye disease.

We only plan a litter when we have a waiting list of homes that fully meet our requirements. PLEASE BEWARE of kennels that breed more than a couple of litters in a year. If someone is advertising 3 or more litters every year, year after year, question their motives. Breeding should never be about making money. Finding truly great permanent homes for a demanding breed such as the Alaskan Malamute is not easy, thus we should all THINK before we breed, and avoid making unnecessary breedings. A quality breeder does not need to breed multiple litters every year to maintain excellence in their breeding program.
