This exciting breeding is planned around temperament, health, work ethic, functionality and type. Both sire and dam display the well developed canine language which enables them to function well with dogs of both sex. They also have friendly and "easy" personalities, which make them
into lovely companions and family dogs. Both Chinook and Gemma live in the subarctic region and possess the functional attributes which are necessary for performing well
on the trail in a polar climate. In addition, they are beautiful representatives of the breed, displaying the type, soundness and size which we aim for. Chinook is 63cm /36kg and Gemma is 59cm/34kg. Both dogs have full dentition and a correct bite. Our joyful girl Gemma has completed her AMCA WTD and WPD titles with great enthusiasm and is now working on her WDX-titles. Chinook is a sweet boy who is keen to learn new things and capable of working in single lead on a 5-dog team, breaking trail in the far north of Arctic Norway. The litter pedigree features many top working dogs as well as numerous BIS and BISS winners. We are hoping this breeding will result in sound and versatile Alaskan Malamutes that will excel in a number of different fields and make wonderful all-round companions for the active owner.

On the team are also Chinook's two brothers, his sister, mother and grandmother. All bred by Beaver's Creek MK in Norwegian Lapland. We visited Chinook's owners, Kurt and Gisela Merkens, in 2006 and 2010 and are very impressed with their dogs and their breeding philosophy. The Beaver's Creek malamutes socialize in groups on a regular basis and spend a lot of time out on the trail. We have followed Chinook since puppyhood and are very pleased to be able to include him in our breeding program. Chinook has a calm and friendly personality and works hard in harness. Exactly what we want from a Malamute! ![]() Gemma out on the trail, completing the first legs for future WPDX and WTDX titles.
