During our hike we passed through the territory of different Sámi villages and when entering a new reindeer
foraging area we had to close the gate carefully behind us, making sure no reindeer would get mixed up
with reindeer belonging to a different village. The term "Sámi village" does not refer to an actual village
where people reside, but to an economical and administrative union, created with the intention to keep
reindeer within the group's territory.

There are in total 51 Sámi villages in Sweden. We passed through the territories of the Gabna, Laeva
and Girjas Sámi villages during our 6-day hike.

Taking a break in the sun on our way across the frozen tundra.

The amount of snow varied a lot from one area to the next. In the valleys there
was barely any snow...

...while there were heaps of snow on the higher sections of the trail.

Here we go!.

Johann and Tuisku are taking a break to admire the landscape.

Tuisku drinks water directly from Johann's cup - is this dog spoiled or what?!?
