Our friend the wolverine from last year's winter hike showed up also this year and
this time we were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of this elusive predator.
There are only around 700 wolverines left in Sweden today.

The wolverine came to drink water from a nearby brook during our stay in Tjäktja
but quickly ran off when the dogs started barking. He made a second appearance
later the same day, moving in the same direction as we but on the other side
of a deep gorge. While resembling a small brown bear, or a bear cub,
the wolverine's movement is that of a weasel.

Despite cloudy weather during most of our hike the views of the mountain world were magnificent.

I'm planning to return to this exact spot next summer to indulge in photography.

Thunder and Gem worked really well together on a brace bungy lead.

Tuisku takes a breather after the steep ascent to the Tjäktja Pass. This was the toughest part of the trail.
