Personality
Leia is a substantial female with a big personality.
She is a great people dog with an outgoing and confident attitude. Her playful personality and excellent
communication skills also enable her to get along well with other dogs.
Leia functions very well off lead and is an intelligent and loyal Malamute.
Working
Leia has many excellent working dogs on both sides of her pedigree. Her sire, Ch. Snowlion's Lone Ranger, WTD, is bred by American Snowlion Kennels, a renowned breeder of working Alaskan
Malamutes in northern California. Leia's mother and sister, owned by Virve and Teemu Kaivola of Snowhow Kennels, are two of Finland's top working Malamutes.
Her littersister, Snowhow Smoky Ronya, earned a gold medal in sprint at the WSA World Championship in Sweden 2008.
Leia began to work in lead position at 9 months of age
and immediately displayed an innate sense of trail. She is a very strong worker who always has enough power to bring the team home at a good speed.
Thanks to her efficient movement she has displayed great endurance also on
our longer expeditions, both as sled dog and as skijoring companion. Leia completed the requirements for her Working Team Dog title during spring 2009.
Conformation
Leia is substantially built with a strong body and heavy bone. She is of standard size and weighs approx. 36 kg and
has a slightly soft but functional coat, a beautiful plume tail, a correct bite and black pigmentation.
