May 4th - Last day of sledding?
On Thursday May 1st we packed our sleds to go on a 4-day excursion in the Pallas-Ounastunturi fell area. When we started our expedition the trail was in good condition but after a very warm and sunny weekend the snow quickly started to melt and on Sunday we had to work hard to get the heavy sleds back home...Click here to view.

Crusty Snow
We're in the end of April but there's still more than one meter of snow on the ground. After a cold night the surface is so hard and crusty that the dogs can walk on top of the snow without punching through. Click here to view.

Gemma BOS Puppy!
Gemma made her show debut on April 19th at the Finnish Alaskan Malamute Speciality Show in
Jyväskylä where American breeder judge Barbara A. Brooks awarded her BOS Puppy!

Swedish Working test (Polarhundprov 1)
In April SPHK Övre Norra organized an official working test for Malamutes in Kiruna. Five teams were entered to the 30km x 2 test which
is carried out over two days. Unfortunately the weather gods were not on our side this week-end as we received over 30cm of snow during the

February Fun!
The best time of the year has begun and we are having lots of fun sledding and hanging out with our Mals in the winter

Sunny's daughters out at play!
Our beautiful half-sisters, Gemma and Jeti, sired by Mtn Home's Spring In The Air, WTD, "Sunny",
have been enjoying the beautiful February weather together. Our homebred girl Jeti is now 10 months old and our recent addition to the family, Gemma, bred by Sue and Roy Fuller, is
5 months old. Together these black & white girls are pretty as a picture! Your can see more photos of the girls

January - Our Gem has arrived!
Puppy Gemma arrived in Helsinki on the day of a major snow storm! Luckily her flight from Seattle/Amsterdam wasn't delayed and
we could finally meet our much anticipated new family member. Gemma has an incredibly laid-back and sweet personality. She stepped
out from her crate at the airport looking totally relaxed and happy and curious to get to know us.
Gemma has now been staying in our home for a while and is settling in really well. She is everything we hoped for - and much more! We are very grateful to Sue and Roy Fuller for sending us this special "gem"! Gemma has her own page under "Our Girls" where we

January - Health Clearances
Tuisku has visited the veterinary to have his hips and elbows x-rayed and has also visted an ophthalmologist in Helsinki to have his eyes examined.
All results were good:
