Our dogs spend a lot of time in their large playarea which provides plenty of space for both games and relaxation during all seasons. On hot summer days the dog rest in the shade of the trees and in winter they run and play in deep snow. Adjacent to the larger playarea is a smaller enclosure with a soft sand bottom which is perfect for digging and wrestling.

Besides the exercise it provides, regular play sessions are also crucial for maintaining a peaceful packlife. Through play puppies and youngsters learn the nuances of communication and how to respect the authority of their elders through the display of proper body language and behaviour.

We love watching our Malamutes interact and also use this routine as a way of monitoring each dog's current mood and health status. A dog that is able to play peacefully with other dogs and that enjoys running and wrestling is often healthy and content and this is what we expect to see in our dogs.

One of our long term goals, and a key ambition of our breeding program, is to have Malamutes that get along with dogs of the same sex and can socialize happily together in groups. We hope to be able to establish this degree of tolerance through careful selection of breeding stock and through daily socialization.
