Working & Personality
Tuisku is blessed with stunning good looks and an amazing desire to work. We train him in both the nordic style and in nome and on our
sledding team he usually runs in lead. Tuisku is an athletic male who also enjoys
tracking, packing, canicross and swimming. During 2008 he completed the requirements for his Working Pack Dog title (WPD) and during 2009 he finished the requirements for his Working Team Dog title (WTD). He has also participated in a beginner's class in agility.
Tuisku is happiest when working and has an enormous energy and drive. He is also very playful and is a popular playmate with
our younger puppies.
Showing
So far Tuisku has only been shown a handful of times but has done very well on those occasions.
He gained his first CAC and CACIB when he was BOB at the Tromsö International Dog Show at fifteen months of age. In January 2007 he was Best in Show at the Swedish Polardog Club's event Kiruna Snowdog.
Conformation
Tuisku is a beautifully balanced dog with a deep chest, good bone and well-muscled legs and body. He has strong, compact feet, correct pasterns, black pigment, dark eyes, medium-sized and well-placed ears and a lovely soft expression.
His rich and very dense coat is ideal in our subarctic climate. Tuisku is of standard size and weighs approx. 35 kg.
Tuisku is co-bred by Maureen Andersen of Keikewabic Kennels and Pamela J. Kovac of Tundra Kennels in Ontario, Canada.
The name "Tuisku" means blizzard in Finnish and is a suitable name for
this fast and eager sled dog!
